Junior League of Columbus, GA

Thursday, June 11 at 5:00 PM will be the opening ceremony for the Chattahoochee Promenade and the Clifford & Bobsie Swift History Tail! We hope that you will join us to mark this special occasion. There will be a brief program, official ribbon cutting, and a reception to follow. It will be held at the entrance to the Promenade (just south of the Coca-Cola Space Science Center).

 

In the mid-1970s, Historic Columbus’ first Executive Director, Janice Biggers, helped transform this western edge of the Columbus Historic District into the Chattahoochee Promenade as part of our nation’s Bicentennial celebration. She worked closely with the City, the Junior League of Columbus, and the Housing Authority to create a lasting public space. Fifty years later, we are honored to continue that original vision.
